The Tuffles are a group of advanced beings noted for their technology and academic achievements.  There are few warriors amongst them, but those that do walk a combative path are usually as cunning as they are powerful, making them dangerous foes.  Their people have changed in the thousand years since the Tuffle - Saiyan War and now take on a more diminutive form, usually standing in between five and a half and three feet tall, and are a bluish tint.  Obviously, the physiological changes have not effected their minds.

Tuffle’s story begins in an alternate reality that was linked to our own by Professor Ruffelburg’s Machine, the same reality, in fact, that once housed Wheete and M7909.  Many years before Frieza rose up to annihilate the Saiyans, the Saiyans and Tuffles lived together side-by-side on Tuffle.  Saiyans were treated as an inferior race and were forced to live in nomadic tribes in the badlands of Tuffle while the Tuffle’s themselves inhabited the finer regions of the planet and created great cities.  Eventually, a Saiyan named Vegeta rose up and lead his people in a pitched battle with the Tuffle’s that would last many bloody years, the two sides being almost equally matched; the Saiyans with their brute strength and cunning, and the Tuffles with their advanced technology.

This even match up wouldn’t last for long, however, as an event happened over Tuffle that only occurred once every one hundred years or so:  A full moon.  The Tuffles were annihilated in one night as the Saiyans underwent their massive Oozaru transformation.  All, that is, except for one, a strange little fail-safe genetic experiment named Bebe.

Bebe was meant to be the deciding factor in the war ( if only the full moon hadn’t occurred ), a genetically perfect Super Tuffle capable of turning the tide of the battle in the favor of the advanced race.  Bebe was left alone when the Saiyans destroyed and pillaged the Tuffle civilization and did not complete his development until years after the Saiyans had colonized Plant, which they promptly renamed Vegeta.

Upon his completion, Bebe set out to rebuild the Tuffle race from the ashes of their once great empire, using frozen stores of blood and organ for genetic diversity amongst his bioengineered work.  He set up and operated vast labs meant to reconstruct his people…and that’s what he did.  Within a few decades there were enough of these “neo-Tuffles” to begin a thorough reconstruction of the civilization that had once been spread almost completely across the face of their entire planet.

After one thousand years of almost unparalleled prosperity ( aside from an interplanetary terroristic war with the Saiyans ), the Tuffle empire is greater than it has ever been and is inhabited by its new masters, Bebe’s “neo-Tuffles”.  Tuffle is a planet of ‘medium’ size, but is dotted with numerous landmarks and cities, including a series of high-altitude rings connected to the surface of the planet by ‘space elevators’.  These rings are known as the Stratospheric Research Center and the Aerospace Highway, used for low atmosphere research and the expedient shipping of goods, respectively.  Two of the other most notable locations on the planet are Tuffle Topiary, a grand garden that was constructed in memory of their messiah, Bebe, and the Saiyan Reservation, home to the last few Saiyans who inhabit the planet.  There is also the Planetary Nature Preserve, the last of the great forests of Tuffle were its native creatures are allowed to exist in peace.

Tuffle was pulled in to our reality when the Bio Android known as Krethean was hooked into Professor Ruffelburg’s Machine in hopes of shutting down the gravity well that was threatening to engulf all of reality.  Because of the damage to the Space Time Continuum, Tuffle and Vegeta from an alternate reality have replaced New and Old Vegeta of our own, and only time will tell if these two great empires can continue to exist amongst us…
